About Us

Kosciusko County Velo (KCV) Cycling Club strives to develop and promote healthy lifestyle opportunities in and for our community through bicycling.

KCV is a volunteer, not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization which focuses on:

ADVOCACY. ACCESS. ACTIVITY

 

Raising awareness for cycling through ADVOCACY that helps citizens and visitors recognize the benefits of safe, integrated ACCESS to cycling and pedestrian infrastructure which provides for ACTIVITY that helps make our community a better place to live, work and play.

 

Specifically, KCV’s mission of helping to make our community a better place to live, work and play will be accomplished through:

  • community awareness (education for, access to, and promotion of cycling)
  • healthy opportunities (through friendships, competitions, events, rides, commuting, training and coaching)
  • mutual partnerships (with community leaders, businesses and the cycling industry)

KCV is an open participation, non-membership, volunteer club organization.

KCV Cycling Club currently develops, promotes and oversees several events, activities, local trail maintenance and usage of the Old Chicago Boys Club Winona Lake off-road trails. KCV leadership also oversees a regionally, elite-level, men’s and women’s professional development race team.

Volunteer and Sponsorship opportunities exist for the following:

  • Fat & Skinny Tire Festival (www.fatandskinnytirefest.com) (May)
  • Downtown Warsaw Classic Road Criterium (August)
  • Poverty Cycle Challenge – 6/12/24 Hours of Winona Lake Mountain Bike Race (September)
  • Road Time Trial Series (1 race per month; May – August)
  • Mountain Bike and Trail Run Time Trial Series (1 race per month; June – September)
  • Fall Mountain Bike Poker Run (October)
  • Community Group Rides (seasonal)
  • Educational Presentations (available to schools, corporate health fairs, social organizations and community groups, etc.)
  • Local trail building, maintenance and usage oversight (www.winonalaketrails.com)
  • Assistance to and promotion of the Lake City Greenway
