Chicago Critical Mass Ride – Friday, August 27
You’ve ridden the countryside and/or the trails. Try something new… ride the City of Big Shoulders. The Critical Mass ride in Chicago this month is Friday evening August 27th. Join 3,000 of your closest friends for a ride in downtown Chicago, taking over the rush hour. It’s a pretty easy ride with plenty of sights to see. Usually covers about 15 miles over a couple of hours. Bring your cruiser or town bike. The plan is to make an afternoon of it by doing a bike tour of the city and then showing up for Critical Mass at 5:30 PM (Chicago time). Figure on leaving Warsaw around noon and getting home in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The tour of the city is optional, but talk with Fred Helfrich. Everyone must be over 21. Transportation will be an issue, so please get with Fred about arrangements asap. If you are interested in going or have questions contact Fred at 527-3772 or at fhelfrich@sym.com.
2nd Mile Adventures Fort Custer, Michigan MTB Day Trip – Saturday, August 28
2nd Mile Adventures is heading to Ft. Custer in Michigan for a Mountain Bike Day Trip. Leaving this Saturday, early in the morning and returning later in the evening. Transportation is provided. Bring your own food. To sign up or for more details, go online to 2nd Mile Adventures.
KCV Club Meeting – 8pm, Tuesday, August 31
The last Tuesday evening of every month is your opportunity to get in on the latest KCV Cycling Club happenings and get involved. Join us in the back meeting room at Mad Anthony’s Lake City Taphouse at 8pm. Meetings are open to anyone interested in being a part of KCV Cycling Club or finding out about our upcoming events or just hanging out with a bunch of bike geeks. If you’d like to play an active role in leading the club, volunteering for events or just wanting to find people to ride with, we welcome your participation.
First Friday Family Fun Ride – Friday, September 3 – approx 6pm
Looking for a great opportunity to hop on your bike and go for a cruise to have some fun? Join us at Trailhouse to cruise at approximately 6pm from the Village at Winona to Mad Anthony’s Lake City Taphouse for First Friday, which celebrates our downtown by offering a place to meet friends, enjoy our families and preserve a historical and vital part of our community. KCV Cycling Club invites everyone to grab the family and their bikes for a fun ride to downtown Warsaw for the festivities each month. Annual Quad Dam Road Ride – Sunday, September 5
The Annual Quad Dam Road Ride is a great opportunity to finish the year with some serious road miles or get yourself ready for the Poverty Cycle Challenge. Over 100 miles to four area dams and back to Warsaw for a great, long day of cycling with your friends. This is a completely self-sufficient ride, but plenty of friends to ride with.
